To keep your assistant’s income consistent, we give you a discount for set hours each week. If you will be out of town or are sick, we recommend you have a list of “When you have time” projects they can do. You also have the option to give them the gift of extra paid time off, ask them to do additional training with us, or ask them to spend time volunteering.
Inflation
We adjust our rates for inflation every year.
REQUESTS
For clarity, we ask that all new service requests and task lists be put in writing to
support@yourtimecharleston.com or text 843-870-0777
PAYMENTS
Your checking account or credit card will be automatically charged every two weeks for services rendered, purchases* made on your behalf, and other fees/charges. If you notice any irregularities on your invoice, you must notify us immediately. We automatically charge your account 14-18 business days after invoicing. There is no credit card convenience fee for service hours payment. Certain purchases may require an upfront payment. If applicable, you will be notified in advance. If Your Time cannot process your payment or if the card is declined or the payment returned, there will be a $35 fee.
PURCHASE REIMBURSEMENT
Vendor charges, merchandise, shipping, products, parking, services, mileage, or any other expense incurred on your behalf are not included in the hourly rates/packages and will be billed separately. If you cannot provide an Assistant with a credit card or cash for purchases, or if you would like us to take care of payment with a Company card, we will need to have your credit card on file or a voided check and ACH form. There is a 10% convenience fee. You will be invoiced and charged every two weeks. We must be notified of any incorrect charges within 10 business days. We charge your card 1-10 business days after being invoiced, depending on your payment method. .
It is your responsibility to review invoices, receipts, credit card activity, and reconciliation. If your assistant uses your credit card, we recommend getting notifications on purchases and checking receipts when you get home. Your Time is not responsible for unauthorized purchases. We recommend using a credit card rather than a bank card.
TIME CALCULATION POLICY
Time is billed in 5-minute increments with a 15-minute minimum on one-off tasks. In addition to time spent on a task and communication, you will be billed for services including, but not limited to, your Personal Assistant’s travel time on errands.
If you are with your Assistant or communicating with your Assistant, you are being charged. We understand that you sometimes need support at social gatherings or just talk you through your day/goals/fears. Assistants are required to stay sober and will be on the clock at all times.
Time is also charged for time spent waiting for service, driving, and in traffic while running errands, emails, texts, phone calls, setting up new requests, end-of-day messages, project overviews, message archiving, etc.
HOLIDAYS
We value our Assistants’ life balance, too! If you need your assistant to work a holiday, we charge time and a half. (New Year’s Day, Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
Our Assistants have the option to take the following days off unpaid:
New Year’s Eve (after noon) & Day * Easter * Memorial Day * 4th of July * Labor Day *Thanksgiving Eve (after noon) & Day & Black Friday * Christmas Eve & Day & Boxing Day*Other important religious holidays, depending on religion.
If your Regularly Scheduled Assistant is scheduled on a Holiday, they can make up the time on a different day in the pay period or take the day off unpaid. This policy ensures steady income and happy Assistants.
SICK DAYS – VACATION DAYS
If your Regular Assistant is out sick or on vacation, they will reschedule or offer a replacement assistant when available. You are not required to meet the contracted hours if your Assistant requests the time off.
TRAINING A NEW ASSISTANT
Unfortunately, Assistants aren’t forever. Your Time will provide a new Assistant if your Assistant puts in their notice, pending availability. We provide:
- 30 minutes to familiarize themselves with your checklists
- 1 hour to shadow your current assistant or to meet with you
If you want your current Assistant to provide further training, you will be charged an hourly rate for both the Trainee (TBD) and your assistant. You can also request a Your Time Trainer to offer additional training, ideas to improve the flow, and/or improve organization.
If you temporarily need a fill-in for your assistant, you will be charged for any requested training or shadowing. The substitute Assistant will also charge 30 minutes to review your projects and checklists, so they are prepared.
RECORD KEEPING AND DAILY UPDATES
Your regularly scheduled assistant will often take a bit of time during their visit to keep your records up to date and send daily updates to help you and them track their progress and relay important information.
SEVERE WEATHER
If conditions are unsafe, your Assistant will not attempt to travel. During Mandatory Evacuations, we cannot provide service. If your regularly scheduled assistant can’t perform their duties, we ask that you let them try and make up some of the lost income the following week/s or provide them with virtual work.
MEALS/BREAKS
If your assistant works 6+ hours, they will get a paid 30-minute lunch break. Please feel free to join them and get to know them.
If your assistant is doing more physically challenging work (Lead/Assistant Organizing), they can take a 5-10 minute paid resting time every 2 hours. We have found that this improves productivity. They will often use this time to hydrate, stretch, plan, update tasks, make calls, etc.
If your assistant must take a break for personal/business reasons, you will not be charged for their time.

*Organizers:
Lead Assistants/Organizers are required for Organizing/Packing/Unpacking/Home Set-up and other high-level tasks. They will oversee Assistant Organizers.
Maintaining Organization:
Once your home/office/processes are organized, most Assistants can maintain the systems. If you need touch-ups, you can always call back our Organizational Teams or schedule routine maintenance.
If you have an organizational project you think your Assistant can handle, ask us if they are insured/trained. If so, they will switch over to the Assistant Organizer rate.
**Lead Assistants – FEES APPLY
Lead Assistants are the best of the best. Depending on their skill set, they may be able to help with the following
Help you prepare for your Assistant/Household Helper/Other Household Staff
o Create an assistant job description, preferences, checklists, etc.
o Create and write checklists and processes
o Time your checklists
o Provide feedback to your staff
Assist you with managing
o Home Improvement Projects
o Moves
o Events
Organize spaces/processes
Coordinate an Organizer or other vendors
Many clients find that giving their Assistant access to a Lead increases productivity, improves working relationships, and saves time. As opposed to having your Assistant approach you when assigned a project that needs guidance, assistance, or extensive explanation, they may reach out to a Lead to efficiently complete or work on the task. Access to a Lead can be used as needed or scheduled as daily/weekly calls to assess the project’s progress. Leads are also utilized to address any management issues or concerns from the client.
Although a Lead helps to prevent a majority of oversights, people are human and make mistakes. We can’t possibly train your Assistant in the thousands of tasks that are thrown at us every year. Although we will do our best to right any wrongs, Your Time is not responsible for any losses due to non-intentional mistakes.
I understand that I can request access to a Lead (fees apply) to assist in delegating/managing tasks and ensuring that my Assistant is capable. There is an inherent risk in delegating. I understand people make mistakes and that Your Time is not liable for errors or losses.
REVIEWS
We periodically will ask you to review your Assistants. Your Time has high expectations of our Assistants, and we rely on our Clients to inform us of potential problems or exceptional service.

If you choose to request that an assistant drives your automobile, Your Time, LLC, and the Assistant will be released, discharged, held harmless, and indemnified from any liability whatsoever related to these vehicle-related activities and tasks. That means the liability will fall on you. There is a good chance your assistant has minimal insurance coverage so for your protection, you will want to call your agent to have them added as an insured driver and ensure that medical payments are included. Your Time does not check driving records. If you would like this done, please notify us in writing. Additional fees may apply.

I understand, acknowledge, and agree to the Bill Pay and Financial Data provision in its entirety. I further understand that I must check my Assistant’s purchases carefully. All inaccuracies must be reported within 30 days. I further understand that giving Assistant password information is contrary to Your Time’s policies and procedures. Therefore I waive, release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless Your Time for any resulting injuries, losses, or damages.
PROTECTING VALUABLES
With various people in your home/office, we recommend that you keep a lockbox for valuables and controlled substances for which only you have a key. It is the Client’s responsibility to secure checkbooks, credit cards, cash, bank statements, passwords, and other valuables. We complete background checks through Findoutthetruth.com and do thorough reference checks on all of our Assistants. To the extent that you believe your Scope of Work warrants or requires additional checks or investigation, we can arrange more in-depth onsite investigation, background reports, drug testing, driving reports, etc. at an additional fee. We are bonded up to $25,000.00. If your unique circumstances involve Assistants handling or having access to sums of money larger than $25,000, contact us, and we can help you arrange for additional bonding.
PETS
We are not trained to deal with animals with behavioral issues. If your animal causes any damage to any person or property, you are held 100% liable. You are responsible for informing your Assistant of any behavior/aggression issues in advance of services being provided. You should ensure that your homeowners’ insurance has pet coverage in place or ask us about getting additional coverage. We have a person for that!
NON-SOLICITATION
We love our Employees and know you will too! We take a lot of time and effort to find and train reliable, efficient, trustworthy, and friendly people. Our people are our product, and paying them on the side is stealing.
Therefore, Assistants have signed a non-solicitation/non-competition clause and are not available for hire or contract, directly or indirectly, without the express written consent of Your Time, LLC. During the Contract Period and for a period of two (2) years thereafter, you, your family, associates, and business shall not refer or pay for services to any of Your Time’s Contractors/Assistants, without prior written authorization from Your Time.
If you, your company, or your associates want to hire your Personal Assistant directly, contact us to find out about our ‘contract to hire’ policy and fees.
If an Assistant/Employee offers to work for you on the side, contact us immediately. This is a breach of our policy and displays questionable integrity.
If this policy is breached, and you pay an assistant for any work on the side, a $5,000 – $20,000 finder’s fee will be charged.
I understand, acknowledge and agree that I must not hire any Your Time Employees/Independent Contractors, without paying a finder’s fee. I understand that doing so is stealing Your Time’s most valuable asset. I also understand that my business, family members, and associates must go through Your Time to work with our Assistants.
